Can I recover accidentally deleted recipes?

Last updated: 2026-02-06

Currently, once a recipe is deleted from Honeydew, it cannot be automatically recovered. Deletion is permanent, which is why the app asks you to confirm before removing a recipe.

What to do if you accidentally deleted a recipe

  • If you remember where the original recipe came from (a website, blog, or social media post), you can save it again by sharing the link to Honeydew or using the Chrome extension.
  • If you're unable to find the original source, contact our support team at support@honeydewcook.com. While we cannot guarantee recovery, we may be able to help in certain situations.

Tips to avoid accidental deletion

  • Always read the confirmation dialog carefully before confirming a delete action.
  • If you just want to tidy up a cookbook, remove the recipe from the cookbook instead of deleting it entirely. Removing from a cookbook does not delete the recipe from your account.
  • Consider adding important recipes to a "Favorites" cookbook so you can quickly identify which recipes you definitely want to keep.

Deleting a recipe removes it from all cookbooks and your meal plan permanently. If you're unsure, it's always safer to remove the recipe from a specific cookbook rather than deleting it from your account.
