How to use Grocery Lists
Honeydew's grocery list feature helps you plan your shopping trips. You can build lists from your recipes and meal plans, organize items by store aisle, share lists with your household, and even export directly to Instacart for delivery.
Ways to add items
- From a recipe -- tap the grocery list icon on any recipe to add its ingredients automatically.
- From your meal plan -- generate a grocery list from all the recipes in your weekly meal plan, scaled to the right serving sizes.
- Manually -- add any item by typing it in. Great for staples like milk or bread that aren't part of a specific recipe.
AI-powered aisle sorting
Honeydew uses AI to automatically sort your grocery items by store section -- Produce, Meat, Dairy, Bakery, Frozen, and more. This means you can shop aisle by aisle without zigzagging through the store.
Pantry integration
Keep track of what you already have at home with the pantry feature. When generating a grocery list, Honeydew can check against your pantry so you don't buy items you already have on hand.
Household sharing
If you've set up a household in Honeydew, your grocery list is shared with all household members. Everyone can add items, check things off while shopping, and see updates in real time. No more duplicate shopping trips.
Instacart export
Prefer to have your groceries delivered? Honeydew Plus subscribers can export their grocery list directly to Instacart with one tap. Your items are transferred to an Instacart cart, ready for checkout.
Shopping with your list
Navigate to the Grocery List section in Honeydew.
Items are organized by store aisle. Review the list and remove anything you don't need.
Tap each item as you pick it up. Checked items move to the bottom so you can easily see what's left.
Your grocery list works offline too. Once loaded, you can check off items even without an internet connection -- it will sync back up when you're online again.
