How to create a folder

Last updated: 2026-02-06

Folders let you group your recipes into collections that make sense to you. You might create folders based on cuisine type, meal occasion, dietary needs, or anything else. Each folder can have its own color, making it easy to visually identify your collections at a glance.

How to create a folder

1
Go to the Folders tab

Open Honeydew and navigate to the Folders section.

2
Tap the + icon

Look for the "+" button and tap it to create a new folder.

3
Name your folder

Enter a name for your folder. Choose something descriptive like "Weeknight Dinners," "Holiday Baking," or "Meal Prep."

4
Pick a color

Select a color for your folder. This helps you quickly spot it in your folder list and adds a personal touch to your recipe organization.

5
Add recipes

Once the folder is created, start adding recipes to it. You can add recipes from your collection by opening a recipe and tapping the folder icon.

Folder ideas

  • Quick & Easy -- recipes that take 30 minutes or less.
  • Comfort Food -- your favorite cozy dishes for cold nights.
  • To Try -- recipes you've saved but haven't cooked yet.
  • Family Favorites -- dishes that everyone in the house loves.
  • Seasonal -- recipes organized by spring, summer, fall, or winter ingredients.

Remember, a single recipe can belong to multiple folders. Don't hesitate to add the same recipe to several collections if it fits.
