How to move a recipe to a different folder

Last updated: 2026-02-06

Folders are a great way to keep your recipes organized. You can easily move a recipe into a different folder, or even add it to multiple folders at the same time -- for example, a chicken stir-fry could live in both "Quick Weeknight Dinners" and "Asian Cuisine."

How to move a recipe

1
Open the recipe

Navigate to the recipe you want to move and tap to open it.

2
Tap the folder icon

Look for the folder icon on the recipe screen. Tapping it will show you a list of all your folders.

3
Select the new folder

Tap the folder you want to add the recipe to. A checkmark will appear next to selected folders.

4
Deselect the old folder (optional)

If you want the recipe to appear only in the new folder, deselect the previous folder by tapping it. If you'd like the recipe in both, simply leave both selected.

Recipes can live in multiple folders

Honeydew lets a single recipe belong to as many folders as you like. There's no need to choose just one -- add it wherever it makes sense for you. The recipe itself isn't duplicated; it simply appears in each selected folder for easy access.

If you don't have the right folder yet, create a new one first from the Folders tab, then come back and add the recipe to it.
