Last updated: 2026-02-06

YouTube is packed with incredible cooking content, but keeping track of recipes buried inside long videos can be a pain. With Honeydew, you can share a YouTube video and let the AI extract a clean, structured recipe from it automatically.

How to save a YouTube recipe

1
Open the video

Navigate to the YouTube video that contains the recipe you want to save.

2
Tap the share button

Tap the "Share" button located just below the video title and view count.

3
Select Honeydew

In the share sheet that appears, choose Honeydew from the list of apps. If you've pinned Honeydew, it will be right at the top.

4
Let Honeydew process the video

Honeydew's AI will analyze the video content -- including spoken instructions, on-screen text, and the video description -- to extract the full recipe.

5
Review and save

Check the extracted recipe for accuracy. Edit anything that needs tweaking, then save it to your collection.

What kind of YouTube videos work?

  • Dedicated recipe tutorials with clear ingredient lists and step-by-step instructions.
  • Cooking vlogs where ingredients and steps are mentioned throughout the video.
  • YouTube Shorts that demonstrate quick recipes.

Videos that include ingredient lists in the description or pinned comments tend to produce the most accurate results. Honeydew reads all of that context to build your recipe.
