Using Honeydew offline

Last updated: 2026-02-06

Honeydew works even when you don't have an internet connection. Your recipes and grocery lists are stored locally on your device, so you can access them in the back of the grocery store, in a cozy cabin, or anywhere else with spotty or no signal.

What works offline

  • All your saved recipes -- browse, read, and cook from any recipe you've previously opened.
  • Grocery lists -- view your shopping list and check off items as you shop, even without a connection.
  • Recipe search -- search through your locally saved recipes by name, tags, or ingredients.
  • Favorites and folders -- access your organized collections.

How it works

Honeydew automatically caches your recipes and data locally on your device. When you open a recipe or load your grocery list while online, that data is stored so it's available offline. When you're back online, any changes you made (like checking off grocery items) sync automatically.

What requires an internet connection

  • Saving new recipes from URLs or social media.
  • Using the AI Assistant or AI Edit features.
  • Syncing changes with household members.
  • Exporting your grocery list to Instacart.

Heading to a low-signal area? Open Honeydew and browse through your recipes and grocery list while you still have a connection. This ensures everything is cached and ready to go when you lose signal.
