How to switch to email and password login

Last updated: 2026-02-06

If you currently sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook and would prefer to use an email and password instead, you can add email/password credentials to your account. Once added, you can sign in with either method -- they both access the same account.

How it works

Honeydew doesn't require you to choose one sign-in method over another. When you add an email and password to your account, it becomes an additional way to sign in. Your social login (Google, Apple, or Facebook) will continue to work alongside it.

Steps to switch

1
Add an email and password to your account

Follow the steps in our guide to add an email and password. Go to Settings > Account > Add email & password, enter your email, create a password, and save.

2
Sign in with your new email and password

Next time you sign in, choose the email and password option and enter the credentials you just created.

You don't need to remove your social login. Both sign-in methods remain linked to the same account, so you can use whichever is most convenient at the time.

Why switch to email and password?

  • You want a sign-in method that doesn't depend on a third-party provider.
  • You're sharing your account with family and want to give them simple login credentials.
  • You want to sign in on the web app or a device where your social account isn't set up.
