Save from photos and images
Have a photo of a recipe? Whether it's a screenshot, a photo of a cookbook page, or even a picture of a handwritten recipe card, Honeydew can turn it into a neatly organized digital recipe.
Share a photo from your camera roll
Find the recipe photo or screenshot in your camera roll.
Tap the share icon in the bottom-left corner of the photo.
Tap the Honeydew icon in the share sheet.
Honeydew's AI scans the image, reads any text it finds, and converts it into a structured recipe with ingredients and steps.
Check the extracted recipe and make any edits if needed, then tap save.
Use the in-app camera
You can also capture a recipe photo directly from within Honeydew. Open the app, tap the add button, and select the camera option. Point your camera at the recipe and take a photo. Honeydew will process the image immediately.
What types of images work?
- Screenshots of recipes from websites or apps.
- Photos of printed cookbook pages.
- Pictures of handwritten recipe cards or notes.
- Images shared by friends or family via text or email.
For the best results, make sure the text in the photo is clear and well-lit. Avoid blurry or heavily angled shots. Honeydew's AI handles most images well, but sharp, straight-on photos produce the most accurate recipes.
